MINUTES OF THE BLYTHE SAPPERS MANAGEMENT MEETING HELD on  31st May 2006 at The Army & Navy Club, London

1.       Opening Remarks.         The meeting was opened by Sapper Sinclair who handed over to Sapper Lewins upon his arrival.

 

2.    Apologies                       Sappers Hamilton, Muller.

 

3    Minutes of the meeting of 1st March 2006

 

                                    Sapper Peacey drew attention to some errors in the Minutes. Apologies had been received from Sapper SGH Sinclair to be corrected. The Corps report was incorrectly attached and to be changed to the Mar 06. Sapper Hughes should have the post nominal of OBE  --  to be corrected.

                        A clean copy is to be given to the Chairman for signing at the next meeting.

 

4.    Matters Arising.

                                    It is necessary for a new BS Membership List 2006 to be produced for October 2006 meeting.  Sapper Sinclair offered to produce the new list from the database held by the Membership Secretary if necessary.

5.   Finance.

                        Sapper Wilsher, Honorary Treasurer, presented The Statement of Financial Activities to Year End 2005. The Committee took note and agreed the accounts. The Chairman signed off the accounts. The Honorary Treasurer then presented the Budget for 2006.   The budget for 2007 should be presented in Mar 07.

 

6.    Casualties.  None declared.  We were informed of Sapper Ian Stewart having undergone a serious heart operation and the Committee wished him a speedy recovery.

 

7.     Regimental Colonels Corps Report.   The Corps report is attached. The Regt Col was invited to ensure The Blythe Sappers received due publicity for the presentation of The Blythe Sappers Cup to 25 Engr Regt in the football cup final.

 There would be 51 attending this Luncheon.  The Principal Guest is Lt Col J Fuller RE plus 4 other guests.

 

10.  Any Other Business

 Sapper Peacey asked for the AGM minutes to be made available in good time  --   the Honorary Secretary would conform.

           

11. Date of Next Meeting    The next meeting will be on Wednesday 4th October 2006 starting at 1100hrs in the Army & Navy Club.
